Signs It's Time For Replacement |
System Age: A heat pump that has regular maintenance twice annually can last for approximately 10–15 years. If your heat pump is older than 10 years, we recommend considering replacement before the system starts to rapidly decline.
Reduced Comfort: If your heat pump struggles both during summer and winter to meet your comfort needs, and repairs and maintenance aren’t changing this, then it’s time to talk to us about a replacement.

Rising Bills: If your electric bills have been rising compared to last year, but your usage hasn’t changed, the answer may be a failing heat pump. Repairs might solve this, but our technicians can tell you if the heat pump is no longer cost-effective to keep around.

Excess Repairs: Are you scheduling repairs each year for your heat pump? Or more than twice a year? That’s too often—your heat pump is sending the signal that it’s no longer worth the upkeep and you should call us to schedule a replacement.

Noisy Operation: A heat pump can run quieter than many other types of HVAC systems. When this changes and your heat pump starts to clang, clatter, hiss, groan, grind, or make other noises, it’s either repair or replacement time.

Uneven Heating and Cooling: If some rooms aren’t getting the heating and cooling you expect them to, but others are experiencing hot and cold spots, this may indicate a heat pump starting to fail. Have us look into the matter and see if you need a new heat pump.
